LEGAL AID COMMITTEE

The College Legal Aid Committee is a committee of students. It is managed by our in-charged faculty Adv. Dipti Naik. Students that actively engage in a variety of activities and uphold a social commitment to assist the society comprise the Committee. The College creates legal awareness by holding various legal literacy campaigns through posters, skits, street plays and interactions under the guidance taken from Maharashtra Legal Services Authorities Act and in conjunction with Mumbai District Legal Services Authorities.

The main aim of the committee is to provide easy access to justice. The Committee conducts numerous legal literacy programmes in various areas of Palghar District predominantly in schools, colleges, courts, orphanages, prisons and in addition to conducting several legal surveys in order to identify issues faced by the target groups and formulating solutions to solve the same.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF LEGAL AID COMMITTEE

  1. To organize and conduct various legal aid events.
  2. To raise awareness of the law among many societal groups.
  3. To use the Legal Aid Clinic to offer citizens legal aid and counselling
  4. To make it possible for citizens and practicing advocates to communicate with one another in order to facilitate the advancement of their legal cases in the courts.
  5. To help students engage in and support the court staff in the operation of Lok-Adalats in order to facilitate their functioning.
